Project Overview
Administration of Sri Lanka's largest online education network under the Ministry of Higher Education.
Key Objectives
- Administer 26 computer centres, Disaster Recovery site (DR), and Network Operation Centre (NOC).
- Ensure 24-hour physical level security of IT infrastructure and fiber network connectivity.
- Prepare the Strategic Plan for NODES proposing sustainable solutions for organizational growth.
- Manage IT procurement and maintenance agreements for Rs. 500 million worth of equipment.
Key Achievements
- Successfully managed 57 IT staff for operations of computer labs, network, DR, and NOC.
- Obtained 99.9% availability of service to customers through effective maintenance agreements.
- Managed financial activities including budgeting, invoicing, and daily collections from 26 centres.
- Managed the biometric project transferred from DEMP, remotely managing fingerprint machines from Colombo.
Project Impact
Created a nationwide e-learning infrastructure supporting thousands of students.
Established a sustainable operational model for online education in Sri Lanka.
Ensured high availability and security of critical educational IT infrastructure.
